BSPC Working Group on Labour Market and Social Welfare 2007-2009
The BSPC Working Group on Labour Market and Social Welfare presented its final report to the 18th BSPC in Nyborg 30 August-1 September 2009. The Working Group was established at the 16th Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference in Berlin 2007.
The Working Group focussed on the development of worker mobility in cross-border labour markets and with the integration of young people into labour markets. The Working Group also pursued a dialogue with management and labour (social partners) in its activities. The Working Group was chaired by Franz Thönnes, Member of the German Bundestag, Parliamentary State Secretarary.

The BSPC Standing Committee has appointed Franz Thönnes as BSPC Rapporteur on Labour Market and Social Welfare. He will follow and report on the development in these fields, and the implementation of the recommendations of the Working Group.
